History in Brunswick
Few German cities carry their history as visibly as Brunswick. Henry the Lion made the city his residence in the 12th century and left behind the Lion Monument, the cathedral and Dankwarderode Castle. The Welf dynasty shaped the centuries that followed, while the trickster Till Eulenspiegel became the city's most famous folk figure.
