Landmarks in Brunswick
Brunswick wears its landmarks with confidence. On Burgplatz, the 12th-century Lion Monument commissioned by Henry the Lion is the emblem of the city, flanked by the Romanesque cathedral and Dankwarderode Castle. The reconstructed palace, the colorful Happy Rizzi House and the towers of the medieval churches complete the picture of a city that grew from a Welf residence into the Lion City.
